Chris Whewell is the founder of www.sunnysunnyspain.com, and along with business partner Glynis Thomason, is busy in the long, long process of creating what they both hope, will be the ultimate in travel guides for Spain.
Chris originates from Derby, but spent many years abroad. Two years in southern Germany, and ten more in Australia taught him not to accept the grey skies of England's summer as being the norm.
He first came to Spain in 1991, and lived in Mallorca for the summer season, renting out pedaloes on the beach. He still claims that it was the best job he ever had! The next year, it was a bicycle hire shop that kept him busy, and gave him the opportunity to get fit (for the first and only time in his life so far!)
Returning to England in 1992, he managed pubs for Bass brewers but always wanted to move back to Spain. After the death of both his parents within 5 years of each other, he decided that it was "Now or Never", and made the move in 2004. He settled in El Campello on the Costa Blanca, a former holiday destination of his.
Chris is a regular at quiz nights, both at the Jet Set Bar and at Brown's Bar in Campello. Apart from that, he can usually be found within a couple of feet of his computer. He writes the funnyfunnyspain blog, and also the popular Living With the Big Fellah blog (although he claims that Charley, his dog, writes every word)
